General information
Up until 1919 AD, coins were dated using the Lunar Islamic Hejira calendar (it corresponds to 1337 in the Lunar Hejira), often with the king's regnal year as a second date.
The Solar Hejira calendar was introduced in 1919 AD (it corresponds to 1298 in the Solar Hejira) and is still in use. One other country, namely Iran, currently uses the Solar Hejira. If you want to learn more about the Solar Hejira, please visit the Iran page.
If you want to manually convert a date from the Solar Hejira to the Gregorian calendar, simply add 621 years to the value of the Solar Hejira date.
